Job searching

So, I've been trolling art job forums and found this cool project. They supplied an image of existing background art and said "if you want to impress us, create a character that would fit the image."

Here is that picture:

Here is the gnome I created:

Power Rangers just suck...

Because we all know Super Sentai series just don't cut it anymore. MORE to come, stay tuned. (for some reason...the rez is crappy? why? the final is far more sharper than this? do I have save it as a .tiff???? help????) EDIT: Used correct working color profile in Photoshop, I was using a profile used by comic book printing parameters not for web purposes.....BIG difference

Primal Rage

ouch...

BTW looking around for a good webhost. Any suggestions?

Primal Rage

here's my submission for the Primal Rage contest. This was actually just one concept of many i had floating in my head. I went with this one cause I knew it'd present some interesting challenges such as gorilla anatomy and the male figure as well. Hope you like it and as always may the best submission win!;D

Primal Rage

Since I won't have anymore time to work on this, I'll go ahead and post my entry for the contest now.

So, here it is.

What does "rage" mean to me? Well, whenever I thought of the term, I couldn't help but think about the "28" movies (28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later). Naturally, I had to go with what kept showing up in my head. It's funny enough that the first thing that came to mind was the SNES fighting game titled "Primal Rage" but it wasn't a long lasting thought. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this as much as I did making it.

I don't think I'll be able to get back on till about 10pm today, but I can't wait to see everyone's work!

And it is done! Or is it? I may add a few things/colors/highlights later. I just wanted to get this puppy out of my head and onto my monitor, finally, before focusing on anything else... like the contest!

Anyway, hope you all like it. Crit away!

The last thing he saw...

Blindmouse wanders the world painting from memory, prophecies, history, and dreams. He was not always blind though, he remembers all he has seen, but the last sight he laid his eyes upon stuck with him the most.

Horror Beast

This is a WIP of my submission to the "Hall of Terrors" art show at the Paul Vincent studio in Hoboken.

Visit www.paulvincentstudios.com for more info.

Update: Started sculpting the forms out with a layer on overlay using white. This seems to be the process I feel most comfortable with. Check out the people on the shoulder. So scary!

post theme ideas here

sorry for the crappy type, but hey it caught your attention right? Post your theme ideas for the next contest Here! It can be anything - i'll pick one out using anthony's old folding-note-mixing method as we did back in 06'. Also - keep in mind it looks like the general consensus is to go for something challenging.

Creepy dude

Started doodling today and happened to get really into it. This is the result of my idle hands. It looks really blurry, but only because I'm sort of afraid of using hard-edge brushes and I don't know why. Need to start using it.

Not sure what I want to do with my previous WIP so I'm kind of straying from it for now. I'll come back to it later.

Edit: added a jpeg of the process, for those interested.
