A sad puppy
I think some people saw this up in the cabinet down by the life drawing/paint rooms. Anyway, finally got it back and took the time to photograph it. So, I thought I'd post it. Final thesis project for my Life Drawing 2 class from last semester. My thesis was based on a quote from Mahatma Gandhi: "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated."

More sketchin' and messin'
K so I had some free time...the first two are actally some fan art pics done as gifts for 2 friends the 3rd is just some random photoshop practice which I may actually use for an assignment.
A (very) rough Kochalka Family
The Kochalka Family as the Fantastic Four
(note: I wasn't sure about whether I liked the K logo and Amy's didn't scan too well so it appears there's only 3 k's. Accidental, I assure you.)

argh. Trying to teach myself GiMP and to use the half size tablet my girlfriend bought me. I'm so used to the low impact usage of a mouse. Maybe there's something with the tablet itself because the GiMP's pressure sensitivity wasn't changing. No photoshop on this computer or else I'd have done it with that instead.
Coming attractions and practice
I don't have a scanner. Excuse the backgrounds.
So. The two top images are practices done in February. The dark self-portrait is on single-ply bristol and the second of my brother in super-hero garb is on normal sketch book paper.
The two on the bottom are practices in motion. Both will be completed on the same Fabriano watercolor paper used for my cousin's painting.
This last image here is the base of one of three (or four) final paintings for Advanced Illustration. It measures around 16 x 20. I'll tell you about it later.
Where are those Brawl Friend Codes?

Okay. Okay. Okay.
I'm still doing stuff.
I'm trying to do stuff right now (struggling not to pounce a WaveBird gamepad and start Brawling).
Okay.
See?!
A watercolor painting of my cousin Ernie Manansala Jr. and his new fiancee Audrey (something). The space measures 14x17. I did it in five hours---finished at 5am. (I start working at the loveliest hours.)
On Saturday, Ernie proposed on Audrey's surprise birthday party (which was a surprise) at which her family (based in Chicago) also attended (also a surprise). Hours later, he gathers all the guests around, thanks them, calls me over with my painting, drops down to one knee and pops the rock (ultimate surprise?). It was kind of cool because he thinks I'm this "great artist". What wasn't cool was that he said in front of everyone that this was my first official painting! I've painted before. Dozens. Right?
Oh. Here's another, I think. The gouache painting I did for Illustration I in Fall 2007. I hope it's finished. The composition is kind of boring in retrospect, because it's just all middle-ground. But, I got extra points from Dittrich for art directing.
Anyway.
What's everyone's Super Smash Bros. Brawl Friend Codes?
Let's procrastinate together.
Please? I think.
One of my robots - LEZ Bot 2000
2003-2008
it has been suggested to rename her as Love bot instead to be less offensive but she's not offended in being a lesbian and is very comfortable being open with her sexuality as long as people understand a lesbian isn't attracted to all women just as straights aren't always attracted to all people of the opposite sex.
