AHHH HELP!

Everytime I make a brush stroke in photoshop a small hour glass pops up afterwards for like a split second. The result is a flickering brush cursor that is really really annoying. Anyone know how to fix this? I found no helpful articles online.

fixed it, oddly enough by closing my color swatches palette . . go figure
